Dynamic Fluid
Dear friends,
As we enter June, I find myself reflecting on the subtle and profound ways our bodies speak to us of health and harmony. One of the most overlooked—and essential—components of our well-being is the Interstitial Fluid (IF), the dynamic fluid that fills the spaces in between our cells. While it rarely gets the spotlight, IF health is the ground of our vitality, resilience, and sense of connection—both within ourselves and within the larger community.
In my practice, I combine the principles of Body-Mind Centering (R) with Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy. I am witness to how the flow and quality of interstitial fluid are inextricably linked to how we feel, move, and heal. The intricate network of the IF carries nutrients, hormones, and signaling molecules, allowing every cell to be nourished and to communicate with its neighbors.
When this fluid environment is balanced and regulated, our tissues are nourished, waste that would otherwise make us ill is efficiently removed, and our body’s natural rhythms and health are supported. When the IF is stagnant or out of balance, we may experience discomfort, fatigue, or a sense of disconnection from others.
Why Interstitial Fluid Matters
We tend to think of the Interstitial Fluid as part of the background, however, It is the dynamic space where healing happens, where immune responses are coordinated seamlessly behind the scenes, and where our body’s innate wisdom is quietly at work. Recent research has even proposed recognizing the Interstitium as an organ in its own right, underscoring its crucial role in maintaining homeostasis throughout all our systems (Molecular Biology of the Cell).
Through the gentle, mindful touch and presence of Biodynamic Craniosacral Sessions, we support the fluid dynamics of the Interstitium, encouraging movement, nourishment, and release. This work does not force change but invites the body to remember its innate patterns of health. Clients report a sense of ease, clarity, and connection—signs that their internal environment is “purring”.
Cultivating Fluid Coherence in Everyday Life
You needn’t be on a treatment table to benefit from caring for your Interstitial Fluid. Simple practices—like staying well-hydrated, moving gently throughout the day, and aligning your movement with your breath—can help maintain the flow and resonance of this vital system. Even a few minutes of quiet, heart-centered breathing can shift your body into a more harmonious state, supporting both physical and emotional health.
For parents and caregivers, our Infant Developmental Movement Education and Craniosacral Baby Bodywork sessions offer guidance on nurturing your child’s developing systems, including the Interstitium, through gentle touch and movement. These moments of connection are not only soothing—they lay the foundation for lifelong health and resilience.
Somatic Reflection: Sensing Your Inner Waters
I’d like to invite you to take a quiet moment now to tune in and ask,
- Can you sense the subtle movement of fluid within your body?
- What shifts when you bring gentle awareness to these fluid-filled spaces between the cells?
- I invite you to observe how caring for your internal environment supports your overall sense of well-being.
Each small act of attention, each moment of presence, helps to restore coherence—within ourselves and within our communities.
As always, if you are curious to explore these themes more deeply, I invite you to schedule a session or reach out with your thoughts. Your journey toward health is unique, and I am honored to walk the path with you.

Thank you for being part of this ongoing conversation. Wishing you a month filled with fluidity, connection, and gentle self-care.
