Welcome to my June Newsletter On Nurturing Touch!
Last month, I brought my mini–craniosacral class for Babes and Mums to JC Bump & Baby in Jersey City. This vibrant community of expecting and new moms and dads is anchored by its founder, Michelle Goitia, Yoga Teacher, Childbirth Educator, Birth and Postpartum Doula https://www.jcbumpandbaby.com.
Using evidence-based nurturing touch to strengthen the attachment bond between caregiver and baby, the class offers a simple hands-on practice of the 5-step baby stretch protocol that I use to evaluate babies in my craniosacral practice and which you can use during daily activities with baby – changing, feeding, and playing.
New parents learn how to use the stretch protocol for assessing baby’s Range, Resistance, and Response, key indicators for healthy Cognitive, Emotional, and Motor development.
Parents also learn how to troubleshoot baby’s complaints- reflux, colic, latch and sleep difficulties among others- using the stretch protocol.
These nurturing touch interactions are proven to benefit your relationship with baby while increasing your own maternal self-esteem and confidence in handling your baby.
